Every wedding is special, but never in our 17 years of business have we been so happy to photograph one such as this. Covid has been hard on everyone, but this amazing couple altered course and persevered through one of the biggest obstacles of our lifetime. A 300+ guest list was changed to 18 immediate family members on this private venue in Baldwin County, AL. Wedding planner Blair Gewin did an amazing job with some big changes from the original plans, and the day could not have been more intimate and perfect under the circumstances. These families kept their composure and made it a day of love and celebration that turned out beautifully. We are so thrilled we could be there and capture this day for all those friends and relatives that were not able to attend. Weddings will be a little different in the months to come, but this one is proof that you can still have an amazing event with a little determination. Congrats Margaret and Zach! May God bless your marriage in the years to come.

So glad to be finally showcasing this beautiful wedding. Annie and Taylor, along with their magnificent planner, Blair Gewin, threw a beautiful Southern Wedding in Fairhope, AL this spring and it was absolutely flawless. We hit it off with Annie right away (she is as sweet as southern pecan pie) and cannot wait to see them and watch their family grow for years to come. They’ve already started with their precious dog, Rue seen in the preparation photos. They did a first look at the Grand Hotel, Point Clear, with the ceremony taking place at sunset on Mobile Bay. Huge shout out to the owner, Mary Cane, of the beautiful private property near Bon Secour where the reception took place for hosting such a grand event.

When we got the first call for this wedding, we knew it was going to be something special. Claire and Paul were planning a December wedding at my Alma Matter, St. Joseph Chapel at Spring Hill College in Mobile, followed by the reception at the luxurious Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL. The always fabulous Cynthia Zipperly of Mobile was the wedding designer and Grace & Serendipity complimented her vision with some beautiful paper products and logos along with the stunning floral work by Dennis Harris of Zimlich the Florist. Add some Betty Weber Cake and this was one stunning ballroom.
We got to know Claire’s dad well before the wedding because he was so involved which is just an awesome thing for a father of the bride to do, and both of these families were just the nicest we could have asked for. As always, we thank them for having us and are so grateful they trusted us to capture such an amazing day.

The only thing more exciting than being hired by a great couple is shooting their wedding at your Alma Mater. As a graduate of Spring Hill College, it’s always like coming home when we get to work there. Anna and Jeb had a beautiful and fun-filled wedding surrounded by family and loved ones, many from Anna’s home state of Ohio. We started at the famous Battle House Hotel in downtown Mobile for her preparation before heading over to St. Joseph’s Chapel at Spring Hill for the ceremony, followed by the reception at Stewart Field. Their families were so warm and such a pleasure to be around, and we can’t thank them enough for having us.

Fairhope Wedding Photographer: Any time we get to shoot at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear it’s special, but a nice bridal shoot is always our favorite. In case you’re wondering, it’s a Southern thing y’all. Wedding days can get a little hectic, the weather’s not always perfect, and the time of day for portraits isn’t always optimal. When we do bridal portraits weeks before the wedding, we can control all of that a bit more. We start closer to sunset than you would on your wedding day for that late afternoon golden light and take the time to play play play for some really beautiful shots! Christie was just stunning in her beautiful dress and it was so much fun doing a trial run before her wedding day which we will have some sneak peeks of very soon. I hope you enjoy these as much as we did taking them!
When we first heard about Caroline & Will’s engagement party from designer Lorna Huey, we knew that it was going to be nothing short of amazing. It did not disappoint! Although this couple is getting married in Highlands, NC this Fall, they had this memorable event at Sonny Hill Farm in Fairhope, AL back in May. Everything was exquisite and well thought out from the mechanical bull all the way down to the monogrammed pillows and blankets. Guests enjoyed a beautiful afternoon of conversation and games followed by a delicious barbecue dinner before dancing into the night with the Tayo Reed Explosion band.

Fairhope Wedding Photographers:
We are finally giving this blog much needed attention after a super busy summer of beach portraits, and there’s no better place to start than Christie and Roy! They are tying the knot in Fairhope, AL this Fall and we just know their wedding will be nothing less than stunning. We met up with them back in the Spring along with Roy’s son Kyle for their engagement photos and had a grand ol’ time at Chapel Farms and the Grand Hotel in Fairhope.
Alabama Wedding Photographers – We posted a little peek of Sara & Davis’ Southern Alabama Wedding for you last week, but what we didn’t post about was the terribly overcast weather that day and the fact that Sara was pretty sick on her wedding day. We made the decision before the ceremony even started to have an “after session” to really enjoy some relaxing post wedding portrait time and make full use of that beautiful property. With our friends at Diva Productions beside us, we set up another first look for them to get that wedding day feeling all over again and proceeded to start a their photo session in the same area that Davis proposed. We even had to cancel this shoot twice before this day because of bad weather, but the skies on this day were incredible. We had so much fun playing and having a laid back session with them.
If you missed their engagement session we photographed at the same location, check that our here:

Alabama Wedding Photographer – Sara & Davis were married last month in another gorgeous Alabama wedding. It was a four day event starting out Thursday night with a private blessing for close family and friends, a bridal luncheon on Friday for the bridesmaids, a rehearsal with spectacular decor’ on Friday night, a full wedding day on Saturday, and then a Sunday brunch where another family member was proposed to. We are still sorting the 11,000 photos we took with the help of five other photographers we’re proud to call our friends. We’re not going to release too much yet for publication reasons, but this will give you an idea of what a special event it was. We’ll showcase more in the near future, including their Africa themed rehearsal dinner that you won’t want to miss! Be sure to see their Alabama engagement session blog post if you missed it. The weather was cold and nasty on the wedding day, so we will also be doing a “day after” session with the couple in the very near future to complete their wedding gallery. Stay tuned!
Update! The Day After Session can be seen Here!
Kayley & Trey were married this summer on a Thursday afternoon at one of our favorite venues, the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL. This wedding had so many elements we loved… It was intimate, at an amazing location, and had a wonderful couple who truly valued photography and what we could do for them. They wanted to see each other before the ceremony to give us the best light and most time, so their guests enjoyed cocktail hour while we took photographs around the property. After the ceremony, guests were invited back inside the hotel for a delicious meal as they were lead by one of Mobile’s most recognized Mardi Gras favorites, the Excelsior Band, founded in 1883. As usual, the staff at the Grand Hotel were wonderful and we cannot recommend them enough if you’re looking for a beautiful wedding location and impeccable service to go with it. Thank you Kayley and Trey for being so wonderful and having us at your wedding, and thank you Kayley for committing to us when you found our website years ago. We LOVE that!
Fairhope Wedding Rehearsal Dinner – Point Clear Marriott
Brooke & Brandon’s rehearsal dinner was at the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort in Point Clear, Alabama. The Grand is known for their southern charm and hospitality. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff is some of the best in our area. The Ballroom was transformed into in a Bay Retreat and was full of beautiful details from driftwood art to oyster-covered candle vases. The theme was chosen because it represented the groom’s favorite past time…………spending time, boating, fishing or just relaxing on Mobile Bay! The florist was Zimlich’s Patio and Garden/Elizabeth’s Garden, (owners and siblings Carol Reeves, Donald and Tommy Zimlich). Band was Trot Line, Lighting by Will Bridges (Willow Bridge), Cake designed by the Pastry Chef at the Grand Hotel. The Theme represented life on Mobile Bay, and all indigenous plant materials were used along with props like sails, kayaks, paddles, crab traps, buoys, even a Stauter Boat was brought in to finish out the theme. The head table was made into a wharf and a driftwood Bride and Groom was designed by the talented Zimlich’s. Oyster Shells were harvested from Mobile Bay and made into mirrored and vase table scapes by local artist Celia De Laney. Marriott’s Grand Hotel was the perfect setting as the guest watched the sunset before gathering for a sumptuous meal featuring local seafood and farm to table vegetables all created by Master Chef Mike Wallace. Videography was covered by our good friends at Diva Productions!
The decor’ was breath-taking, the food was delicious, but the best part of the evening was the love and emotion. Both dads had us all crying, Brandon’s childhood friend has us laughing until we cried, and Brooke’s best friends had us giggling as they read an email from Brooke when she first met (and started to like) Brandon. After the crying and giggling were over, the band started and so did the dancing. These people can seriously dance….and they don’t stop!
Loved the boat paddle signature board! Tip: Use items like this that can be used as house decor’ for years to come!Loved the driftwood mannequins! The head table… Details were just so intricate all the way to the crab pots and driftwood garland. This is a working vintage coke machine and it is AWESOME!This might have been one of the funniest toasts ever!
There are so many events surrounding a wedding that we usually do not get to experience. There’s bridal showers, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, etc….. Let’s face it, the events leading up to the wedding day are a lot of fun. That’s why we are so thrilled when we get to be at some of the other events like this beautiful bridesmaids’ luncheon for Brooke and her ladies the day before her wedding. This luncheon took place at the beautiful Fairhope Inn in Fairhope, AL. In attendance were Brooke’s bridesmaids, along with some of her closest friends and family. No details were left untouched with the silver goblets and embroidered napkins lining the tables along with the fresh Rosemary sprigs on the back of the chairs. Gifts were given to the moms and grandmothers, while the bridesmaids received monogrammed pajamas and pearls for their sleepover party the following morning before the wedding. This luncheon was oozing with Southern Charm and hospitality. Enjoy!
You may remember this cute couple from their engagement session a couple of months ago. This is our second wedding with Brandon’s family, and we were so honored to get to know Brooke’s family this time as well. I only wish all of you reading this could be as lucky as we are to get to spend time with such an uplifting group of people. This is part 1 of their recent 3 day wedding celebration that we cannot wait to share.
Their festivities began on Thursday night at a private chapel in south Alabama on the family property. Brooke and Brandon were surrounded by their closest friends and loved ones for a blessing of their upcoming marriage. It was a very spiritual and uplifting event that was extremely moving to those who were there. What a wonderful way to kick off the weekend.
Those of you who follow our blog might notice that we don’t post a lot of B&W photos. We believe there is a certain way to use B&W like a tool, where the emotion or the story can be enhanced by avoiding the distraction all of the colors in a photo. This was one of those times where turning off the color really allows you to feel the emotion happening here…Our couple was whisked across the property afterwards in this classic Mustang to the stables for some more fellowship and a good ol’ Southern Barbecue. >
Fairhope Wedding Photographers – We had a great afternoon with Brooke and Brandon recently. They are getting married this summer near the beautiful town of Fairhope, AL. They wanted a session around their family property, Chapel Hill Farms, and we were more than excited to oblige after shooting Nikki and Maury’s wedding there back in December. They have a private chapel on the farm you will see in one of the photos that will be used in some of the wedding events. They were naturals in front of the camera and it really shows with this beautiful engagement session. We were able to shoot around the other various farm locations with corn fields and lakes. We finished with a beautiful sunset on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay where we got to meet and photograph Brandon’s sweet Springer Spaniel. We cannot wait to work with this family for another 3 day wedding event soon with some of the area’s top wedding vendors including the Grand Hotel Mariott. We know it’s going to be fantastic!
Randi sat down with us last year when she booked to tell us about her farm wedding in Greenville, AL. There’s nothing better than when we envision something great in our heads, and then we’re blown away x 10 when we actually get there and see the real thing. It was beautiful! Chase and his dad own this 1400 acre farm complete with stocked lakes and pet deer. Guests were shuttled to the back corner of the property for a ceremony under a massive oak tree next to one of the two lakes. The reception tent was on on a hill with a fire pit just a quick walk away overlooking the lake. The moon was full, the stars were bright, and it was a magical night. The vendors involved are some of the best in the FL Panhandle who traveled to Greenville to pull off this magnificent event. We are so delighted to be able to show you their work that made this wedding possible. Enjoy!

How do bridesmaids get around a large farm? Polaris of course!Love, love, love the dress!Chase is quite fun to hang out with if you couldn’t tell 🙂 He also loves his pet deer… These are just happy to be safe! They were escorted into the reception in style by the bagpiper…You’ve got to love the deer stand groom’s cake by Betty Weber…The decor’ was very farm chic’ and just perfect for the theme of the wedding..
Here’s a little collage of the details… Classic City served a mouth watering buffet of smoked grouper and pork. The popcorn and candy table was a big hit along with Fiore’s rustic farm touches on the decor’.It was a perfect night…The fire pit under that full moon was a hit as well..
Deanna & Chris came all the way from the city of Nashvegas (Nashville) in October for a destination wedding in Gulf Shores, AL at the massive Halekai House. Charli from All the Details helped plan and coordinate the day to perfection. Deanna’s favorite flower from Chris is the rose, so incorporating them into the decor’ was a must. The design was elegantly tasteful and probably one of our favorites with all of that deep romantic red built in. This was a wonderful celebration of family and close friends that was as much fun for us as the guests. Enjoy some of the day’s fun. Love this dress x 10!Deanna had a vintage Ruby ring that Chris gave her. It was passed down in the family…Va Voom!Red roses have never looked so great! The colors at sunset were just beautiful..The food was so colorful and red that we thought it deserved it own collage.
Where do we even start with this one? Sara and Jonathan are an amazing couple and it seems like we go way back. Sara first contacted us back in 2008, and we kept in touch while they explored all options for their wedding date. Sara is quite the photographer herself, and she was looking for one that was a little less traditional than most in Mobile. We hit it off from the beginning and knew her wedding was going to be fantastic. Jonathan proposed in New Orleans, so we were more than excited to go to the Big Easy for an engagement session with them last Fall. It was a beautiful afternoon, so we took advantage of the weather and had a great time waling the French Quarter. One thing we love about Mobile (we both grew up there) is how much the downtown area resembles New Orleans. For their wedding this past May, they chose a beautiful location in the heart of Mobile that really has that French Quarter feel. If you didn’t know any better, you would probably think it was New Orleans just looking at the photos. The beautiful brick courtyard was a perfect place for the ceremony with plenty of room to party for the reception. I think we can both say it’s one of our favorite new Mobile venues.
Photographers: All of our blog photos are now prepared with some help from our good friends over at BlogStomp. Chip has created a wonderful set of actions that will cut your blogging time drastically by sharpening and adding logos to your photos in one easy step. We’ve used BlogStomp for about 6 weeks since we redesigned our logo and we love it! Check out their website and see it for yourself!
We’ll start with a few engagement photos from New Orleans
The woman singing on the left is a New Orleans attraction herself and has an amazing soulful voice. It was an experience to hear her…. Nothing to see here officer…. move along. A few wedding details including that beautiful dress… The backdrops are amazing as well. The red wallpaper in the dining room was beautiful…. Since photos were so important to Sara, she and Jonathan saw each other prior to the wedding to give us a lot more time….
The girls were sporting some bright wraps and having a lot of fun…
But the guys had their own ideas for fun portraits….
This still cracks me up looking at it. Apparently the ring was forgotten upstairs until line-up time for the ceremony. Sara looks so mean here, but it was pretty hilarious…
The priests were checking out the guests through the window… Two beautiful ladies right here…
That cake and the food were ridiculously amazing!
Just a wonderful ambiance as the sun was setting….
When you’re honeymooning in NYC, there’s only one way to leave a wedding! This was the first wedding we tested ShootShed on and it was a major success!
Morgan and Stephen were our last June wedding at the end of our very busy wedding season. They brought a couple hundred of their closest friends and family down from Mississippi to the beautiful area of Orange Beach, AL for a grand wedding. The ceremony was held at a private residence with reception at Palms Grill. This was our first time at the Palms. Not only was the room beautiful, the food was some of the best we’ve had and the staff was phenomenal! Morgan was delightfully funny as you’ll see below, and she and Stephen both were great to work with and such a compliment to each other. And let me tell you…those Mississippi folk can PARTY!
The wedding and reception were so amazing thanks to Charli from All the Details in Fairhope, AL. Charli really made the ceremony set-up beautiful and kept the day running smoothly!
I know Nikki’s mom is dying to see these photos! But first, let me thank my dear friend Stephanie for referring this sweet couple to us!! Nikki and Andy were so easy to photograph!! They had a Pensacola Beach engagement session a while back and it was evident how much these two love each other.
This was our first wedding down Ft Morgan Road in Gulf Shores, AL and we were thrilled when we drove up and saw such a pretty church. You have GOT to see these pink and green bridesmaids dresses too! They were just like the ones at Lauren and Colin’s wedding, but paler versions. Too cute!! The ceremony was really sweet and we are so glad we were a part of their day.
