Sometimes you meet a couple and realize that they’re “the ones”. The ones who have a similar sense of humor, the ones who hand you champagne in a styrofoam cup when you meet them the first time at a shoot, the ones who are open to anything you want them to do in front of a camera. Add all that to an amazing Fall day, and it’s just magic in front of a camera. Nathalie and John will have their February wedding in St. Augustine soon, and we are so excited to spend that day with them. They were in our area for a friend’s wedding recently, so we started at Rosemary Beach and finished their session at Watercolor.

When you have small children at the beach, sometimes their priorities are not your priorities. They don’t want to sit and smile, they want to play, and laugh, and do what little kids do. This was one of our favorite sessions of the summer. It was spontaneous, it was playful, and we had a great time chasing this little handsome dude around the beach doing what all two year old’s do while his baby sister played with mom and dad.  If you have small children, the best thing you can do to prepare for your photo session is show up without expectations. These parents are going to relive these great memories for years to come! 30a photographer 050

We have had the privilege of photographing many weddings over the last 12 years, and all of them have had their own unique qualities. Some of them small, some of them large, some of them laid back, some of them over the top. Some weddings deserve to be featured in all of their glory simply for their beauty and the hard work and planning that went into making them.

When we first met up with Ally & Tyler for their engagement session last summer & found out about their nautical themed wedding, we knew it was going to be nothing short of impressive. Ally even brought that theme to their session with a cute nautical dress. Everything from the table linens to the oar signature board for guests was perfectly done. They had a late afternoon ceremony on the beach followed by the guests throwing bags of miniature beach balls at them upon their departure. Another great meal from Townsend catering and this group was set to party for the night. What a party it was. Thank you to Ally & Tyler for being such another awesome couple!

Pensacola – Destin Photographer:

We first met the Brown family in 2010 when we took their family portraits and have stayed in touch since, so when they contacted us again last month for another session before the military moves them overseas, of course we said yes!  When they mentioned that they wanted a relaxed beach photo session involving the other member of their family (aka “the boat”), I think Wes nearly flew out of his chair with excitement. Destin and Pensacola have a wonderful boating community and it’s almost a way of life on the Gulf Coast.  When we’re not working, you can find us on the water ourselves, so it was insanely fun to capture that love of boating for another family.  It ended up being a little cooler than we expected for a Spring Break week, but the kids bundled up and were a delight to play with while we captured all of their fun at their favorite spots. One thing we love about boating is getting to go to the places that no one else can reach by car, so it gave us plenty of room for silliness. If you are interested in a lifestyle photo session like this for your family, feel free to contact us. We’d love to help!

Blog updates:

  • New logos & graphics
  • Comment on posts with Facebook
  • Updates menus and resources coming soon

For now, enjoy a sneak peek of the coming soon raeleytham.com below while you enjoy the new look of our blog!

Wedding season kicked off with a bang recently at Carillon. Emily and Luke had some great plans in mind with this wedding and it was perfection.  Black & White was the theme with everything from table linens to custom pillow covers for the fire pit complete with s’mores.  The pineapple themed “Webbertini” was a big hit thanks to our friends at Townsend Catering. Instead of a sign-in book, they took a photo of themselves and turned it into a puzzle, having each guest sign the back of one of the many pieces. Luke’s rock & roll side made an appearance too thanks to that awesome guitar Emily surprised him with as a wedding gift.  Confections on the Coast also came through with an AC/DC groom’s cake that showcased every album by the group. It was quite the party as this crowd knew how to boogie to the Mr. Big Band. Let me give a plug to Kyle LaMonica for his amazing talent singing at the ceremony and reception.  If you are looking for a musician, he is a super talented one man show and a nice guy too! It was another great event thanks to all of the effort by our favorite Carillon vendors. Our thanks to Emily and Luke for having us and being such a nice couple too.  We had a really great time!

Sometimes we feel like we don’t have to say very much on a wedding post simply because the photos speak for themselves. This is one of those times. Gina and John were married last Fall at the always beautiful Carillon here on the Gulf Coast. Once again, the vendors involved in this event pulled off an amazing job with breathtaking details. We are so honored to be able to showcase their hard work and hope you enjoy seeing this post as much as we did creating it.

There’s nothing better than than arriving at a wedding and being visually overjoyed with creativity and color schemes. That was the feeling we had as soon as we arrived at Carillon to Lauren & Trevor’s wedding. Lauren chose a pink & yellow wedding color scheme that was fun, modern, & just perfect for the season. This was definitely a FUN group of people who came for a destination wedding from Memphis and brought their southern hospitality with them. I think the phrase “They liked to dance” would be an understatement!
We gave this post a little extra love and hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed being there!

Lauren’s mom popped out of her room in that rockin’ pink dress and she got a major round of applause!

Their first dance started out with a fake-out slow song and then transitioned into a fast dance to everyone’s surprise.  They repeated that with their parents as well who could boogie down with the best.
