Dee and Matthew are getting married in their hometown of Dallas, but they came to one of their favorite places to visit, Seaside, FL, for their engagement photos. It was a very blustery weather day with lots of wind and waves, but we started in town center and worked our way to the beach. They were such good sports and I think this photo adventure will provide them with lots of happy memories for many years to come. Congrats Dee and Matthew!

When you have small children at the beach, sometimes their priorities are not your priorities. They don’t want to sit and smile, they want to play, and laugh, and do what little kids do. This was one of our favorite sessions of the summer. It was spontaneous, it was playful, and we had a great time chasing this little handsome dude around the beach doing what all two year old’s do while his baby sister played with mom and dad.  If you have small children, the best thing you can do to prepare for your photo session is show up without expectations. These parents are going to relive these great memories for years to come! 30a photographer 050

It’s been a while since we posted an E-session, so we thought this would be the perfect opportunity. Shelley and Ryan are getting married at the Sandestin Resort in 2012, and recently made the trip from Baton Rouge for some fun at Watercolor Resort. We spent some time playing around the property on a stormy afternoon before making it down to the beach for a brilliant sunset. The sunsets this time of year are just amazing, especially during stormy weather. We really love these two and are super excited about their wedding next year. Enjoy!

The weather this past weekend sure did redeem itself. Gina & John tied the knot at one of our favorite wedding venues, Carillon. We post quite a few Carillon Weddings, and people ask all the time where this little slice of heaven is on the map. Well, it’s located on Hwy 98, just inside the western Bay County line near Panama City. Now you know!

Here is a little Sneak Peek for Gina and John. Big thank you’s to them for having us at this grand event!

Rosemary Beach Wedding – We always get excited when Jennifer from It’s a Shore Thing contacts us to meet a bride because we know it’s going to be a beautiful event with the best vendors in the area.  Amy & Chad’s Rosemary Beach wedding on the Western Green was no exception. They booked us almost a year ago, which worked out great since May 14 ended up being THE most popular wedding day of the season.  Every detail of the wedding was just beautiful, from the blue shoes Amy chose all the way to that chocolate buttercream groom’s cake. It couldn’t have been a more perfect afternoon.

We simply adore Watercolor weddings and really enjoy working with our friend Cheryl Walton every time we have a wedding there. She talked so highly of Cindy and Robert, and we knew why the first time we met with them. Although their kids are almost grown, they are a perfect modern day version of the Brady Bunch. They love vacationing on 30a and knew that’s where they wanted to plan their destination wedding from Tennessee. Watercolor was a perfect choice, and Cheryl & staff did an amazing job as usual. The day was completely laid back, stress free, and their guests really seemed to have a great time.

Kara & Rich chose us based on our website, but as soon as I met them, I KNEW we were a match.  I could not have been more right.  We had an absolute blast all day long.  We walked in the room where the ladies were getting ready and it was immediate energy!  The iPod was blaring, the bridesmaids were gorgeous in their jewel-toned dresses, Renee (from Two Fishes) was beautifying Rich’s mom, and Kara’s reality-show-star-friend, Jon (from Shear Genius), was busy fussing over Kara’s perfect hair!

Kara & Rich wanted to party immediately after the ceremony, so we had a first look session and it was perfect.  I am pretty sure Rich was blown away by the sight of his bride.  She was stunning.  After wrangling the wedding party for some pre-ceremony photos, we headed to the beautiful ceremony site at the Western Lake Park.  After a tear-filled ceremony and some quick family photos, we stole the crazy couple for some pretty golden light photos.

Not long after the reception began at the Bait House Pool Deck, Jon whisked Kara to the locker room for a wardrobe change and a completely fresh hair style.  Jon really is a great friend to Kara and he wanted to make sure she was perfect for her day.   At the end of the night, Kara & Rich jumped aboard the Watercolor boat and sailed into the darkness.
