We had a bridal session with Mandy a couple of months ago, so we’ll start with a few of those. We were so excited the first time we say that beautiful dress.
Mandy and her mom and Grant met with us a while back after they had met with another photographer. I think Mandy’s words to her mom were, “Rae’s gonna have a hard time beating that [other photographer].” I must have impressed them! We had an instant connection and we actually realized we have some mutual friends. Their wedding was incredibly sweet and obviously beautiful thanks to some well-chosen vendors.
One of my favorite parts of the day was the time Mandy spent with her parents while getting ready. There were tears shed by everyone in the room. Another favorite part of the day was scavenging for pretty areas of a concrete jungle!

Absolutely swooning over the details from Jodie and David’s recent wedding. Fantastic job by Coastal Weddings by Victoria, Myrtie Blue, Betty Weber, and Townsend Catering.
Pensacola Wedding Photographer – Rae Leytham: We love it when we get a call from a past bride’s sister. We photographed Ashley’s sister’s wedding two years ago at the same venues! It was a beautiful, yet warm, day in June at two beautiful venues.

We have seen Brandy and Ryan at several weddings over the last few years. We were thrilled when they chose us to be a big part of their day. It was crazy fun with lots of color, laughter, smashed icing, and a groom that ended up shirtless. It was certainly a PARTY.

Randi sat down with us last year when she booked to tell us about her farm wedding in Greenville, AL. There’s nothing better than when we envision something great in our heads, and then we’re blown away x 10 when we actually get there and see the real thing. It was beautiful! Chase and his dad own this 1400 acre farm complete with stocked lakes and pet deer. Guests were shuttled to the back corner of the property for a ceremony under a massive oak tree next to one of the two lakes. The reception tent was on on a hill with a fire pit just a quick walk away overlooking the lake. The moon was full, the stars were bright, and it was a magical night. The vendors involved are some of the best in the FL Panhandle who traveled to Greenville to pull off this magnificent event. We are so delighted to be able to show you their work that made this wedding possible. Enjoy!

How do bridesmaids get around a large farm? Polaris of course!
Love, love, love the dress!
Chase is quite fun to hang out with if you couldn’t tell 🙂
He also loves his pet deer… These are just happy to be safe!
They were escorted into the reception in style by the bagpiper…
You’ve got to love the deer stand groom’s cake by Betty Weber…
The decor’ was very farm chic’ and just perfect for the theme of the wedding..
Here’s a little collage of the details… Classic City served a mouth watering buffet of smoked grouper and pork. The popcorn and candy table was a big hit along with Fiore’s rustic farm touches on the decor’.
It was a perfect night…
The fire pit under that full moon was a hit as well..
We started our 2011 off with an amazing wedding and an amazing couple. The wedding and reception were at the Cypress Dunes Clubhouse in Santa Rosa Beach. The venue was great, the vendors were fabulous, and the details were amazing. We are THRILLED to share this one with you. Even Kris’ jewelry was lovely. The groom’s mom and her friends are florists and they did such a great job with all the floral details and decor’. The birch bark details were so organic and the handmade cotton guest book fit in so well. Add Classic City Catering and Betty Weber cake to the mix and we were in heaven. The food was delicious….spicy tomato bisque with grilled cheese points, gumbo with dirty rice, oysters on the half shell, baked oysters, and so much more!
Michie and Tan’s wedding was a little different than most of our weddings. It was rich in Asian tradition and so full of culture! They mixed in their heritages for a Chinese/Vietnamese party. It all started at a beach house when Tan’s family presented gifts to Michie’s family. Then, the parents’ presented gifts to the couple. They ate yummy Chinese snacks and drank tea before heading to the church. The ceremony was almost entirely in Vietnamese, but we followed it pretty well since we have been to so make Catholic ceremonies. Then we headed to the reception at St. Ann’s beautiful fellowship hall. It was on of the only places in town that could accomadate the 350+ crowd. And, it didn’t even feel crowded in there! Tracy from Wedding Walls did a fabulous job dressing up the interior of the hall. The 7-course Vietnamese dinner was catered by a Vietnamese restaurant from the New Orleans area and it included all sorts of seafood (mmmm lobster) and was absolutely amazing!! I am pretty sure every person there thoroughly enjoyed their meal and their night.

Michie was flawlessly breathtaking the moment we arrived…
She started out intraditional Chinese attire for the tea ceremony prior to the wedding
Michie was formally introduced to all the guests at the start of the tea ceremony
Michie’s parents accepted the gifts from Tan’s family. It was quite a food ensemble… including a whole roasted pig!
Immediately following the tea, Michie slipped into that gorgeous white dress and we headed to the chapel…
Stunning!
The ceremony kicked off with a band playing nothing but Asian music
Fun details including the cake front and center with beautiful draping provided by Wedding Walls!
Michie changed back into her Chinese dress for part of the reception and they had to visit each table for gifts and a toast. It was a lot of toasting with 300+ people! I think Michie tried to slip in water a few times, but her glass was quickly replaced with some bubbly!
For the partying, Michie changed again into a FUN party dress! That girl has style!
One of the highlights of this wedding season was another wedding with the Fabulous Lara Casey and Bliss Event Group. Becky and Scottie has a beautiful wedding at the Our Lady of Assumption Church on Pensacola Beach followed with a reception at the Pensacola Beach Hilton. They have a precious little girl that will melt your heart in this post, especially since we featured her in extra photos. Yes, extremely cute children get extra attention here on the blog! Helloooooooo hottie!
We take our photos seriously!
Some detail love….
The colors and florals were just scrumptious….
Let’s have some Barry White music for the Betty Weber cake…. Oh yeah
Scottie decided to be unique and smash cake into his own face….
Then it got a little bit crazy!
Kristin & Caleb found us a long time ago after Kristin’s sister was a bridesmaid in a wedding we photographed! We are so glad Haley told Kristin about us. These two are so sweet and kind and such a pleasure to be around. Their wedding was sweet and beautiful and the afternoon lighting at the Scenic Hills Country Club was superb!
It was the first really cool day of Fall and it started out bright and breezy…Can you already picture the cuteness these are about to bring? You will see these again…
Yep, total flower girl cuteness!
Of course all the ladies were dressed for the occasion…
Kristin was gorgeous…..
and Caleb was looking great himself!
The Fall weather was perfect for some beautiful, warm, photos that day. …
Does Kristin glow or what?
Betty Weber came through with another beautiful (and tasty) cake…
Look out, we have a flower girl down. I repeat, the flower girl is down!
Kristin changed into this super cute getaway dress….
And they were whisked away after a wonderful afternoon…. I hear they had a fabulous time at Disney World and Kristin experienced her first roller coaster!
Since we are based in a military town, we get our share of military weddings. We have even had a few “double military” weddings. You know…when the Bride and Groom are both military. But, this Bride and Groom are not only both military…they are both pilots. Sarah is in the Navy and is currently stationed at Whiting in Milton, FL while Preston is a Marine and is stationed at Quantico. Have I ever told you how much I love the Marine dress uniform? RROOWWRRR!
What reception venue do you think would be perfect for these two pilots? Did you say the Pensacola NAS Aviation Museum right under the Navy’s Blue Angels? Oh yes and it was GORGEOUS! Then you have Renee doing the makeup, Betty making the cake, and Celebrations doing the florals….PERFECTION! These all just come together to make a photographer’s day so easy.

I am in love with this shot!! Sarah has such beautiful features…look at those lips…and this is probably the ONLY non-smiling photo of her.
This is about the time we started harassing Preston. He was so ready to go to the party, but we tortured him with lots of photos! But, we really know he was enjoying being able to make-out with his new wife!
Aren’t these surroundings just breathtaking?! OH! Check out the table number cards. They are beautifully handmade watercolors with the number and the Navy wings. Great idea Whitney (from Celebrations)!!
There’s Betty’s cake! YUM! I forgot to mention that there was a candy bar. A huge one full of pink candies. The M&Ms and Dove chocolates were personalized and so cute! Sarah’s mom’s only request was that we got a ring shot in some flowers. I think we one-upped the flowers with some big pink gumballs!
Brooke and her mom booked me a whole year before the wedding. Brooke lives in California now so she had to book everything while she was in town. The thing I remember most about that first meeting was Brooke saying that she just couldn’t find THE dress. She saw some she liked, but she didn’t LOVE them. I think she went to several shops around the country, but still couldn’t find THE ONE. Imagine my excitement when I got an email from her several months later stating that she found her dress at a bridal boutique in Italy! Her family was strolling down the streets of Rome, and Brooke spotted a beautiful silk dress with Chantilly lace in the window. It was a match made in heaven!! The dress paired with a Versace lace Cathedral-length veil made Brooke look like an angel.
OK…enough about Brooke. Carlos was a pretty cool guy. I met him as I pinned on his boutonniere right before we started photos. He was easy-going and happy to do whatever we told him to. LOVE that! The wedding was sweet and the reception was filled with friends, laughter, and dancing. You can’t ask for more than that. Ms. Betty Weber did the cakes and you will see how awesome it was!

I should be SO ashamed of myself. I realized I never blogged their engagement pics, so here’s a couple so you can see what they look like on a normal day.
Well….actually, on a normal day, Rob is wearing a uniform in a not-so-pretty shade of green with a gun at his waist and Jennifer is covered in fingerprint powder and evidence tape. Did you figure it out? Rob is a Deputy and Jennifer is a Crime Scene Tech. That is why Jennifer is so cool. Did you know that I was cool like Jennifer in my former life? I worked in Forensics for over 6 years and most of that time was spent in Crime Scene Investigations.
Enough about me. Their wedding was a great party and trust me…they know how to party. They saw each other before the ceremony to take some photos and ease their nerves. It’s so great to do it that way!

This was the guest book. How cool?
Mrs. Weber strikes again!
Rockin’ sushi bar!
Don’t let Rob’s face fool you…. he was a gentlemanThis is a new one. The bouquet AND garter were both caught by men. It got a little ugly before it was all over!
Andrea and Bryan got Blissed a couple of weeks ago with the help of Mrs. Leah Harrison and crew who did a fabulous job as usual. It was a dreary day, and even though it started raining well before the ceremony, the bottom did not fall out until after we left the church. It didn’t matter though. Andrea and Bryan were in good spirits and we were able to snap a few outside during some dry times. Everyone was so relaxed and the day was really perfect.

Thank goodness for umbrellas!
Unfortunately the weather kept us inside for most of the photos…..
What? Could it be? Why yes, that is a beautiful Betty Weber cake you see! Hey, that rhymes! I know…boooooo Wes. And, not only was it a Betty Weber cake, it was Rae’s 2 favorite Betty flavors! Chocolate La Cream AND lemon….all in one cake. mmmm mmm mmmm.
I think this was during “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey, a new wedding classic! Who needs the electric slide to have fun?
