Fairhope Wedding Photographers:

We are finally giving this blog much needed attention after a super busy summer of beach portraits, and there’s no better place to start than Christie and Roy!  They are tying the knot in Fairhope, AL this Fall and we just know their wedding will be nothing less than stunning.  We met up with them back in the Spring along with Roy’s son Kyle for their engagement photos and had a grand ol’ time at Chapel Farms and the Grand Hotel in Fairhope.

Kayley & Trey were married this summer on a Thursday afternoon at one of our favorite venues, the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL. This wedding had so many elements we loved… It was intimate, at an amazing location, and had a wonderful couple who truly valued photography and what we could do for them. They wanted to see each other before the ceremony to give us the best light and most time, so their guests enjoyed cocktail hour while we took photographs around the property. After the ceremony, guests were invited back inside the hotel for a delicious meal as they were lead by one of Mobile’s most recognized Mardi Gras favorites, the Excelsior Band, founded in 1883. As usual, the staff at the Grand Hotel were wonderful and we cannot recommend them enough if you’re looking for a beautiful wedding location and impeccable service to go with it. Thank you Kayley and Trey for being so wonderful and having us at your wedding, and thank you Kayley for committing to us when you found our website years ago. We LOVE that!

Fairhope Wedding Rehearsal Dinner – Point Clear Marriott

Brooke & Brandon’s rehearsal dinner was at the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort in Point Clear, Alabama. The Grand is known for their southern charm and hospitality. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff is some of the best in our area. The Ballroom was transformed into in a Bay Retreat and was full of beautiful details from driftwood art to oyster-covered candle vases.  The theme was chosen because it represented the groom’s favorite past time…………spending time, boating, fishing or just relaxing on Mobile Bay! The florist was Zimlich’s Patio and Garden/Elizabeth’s Garden, (owners and siblings Carol Reeves, Donald and Tommy Zimlich). Band was Trot Line, Lighting by Will Bridges (Willow Bridge), Cake designed by the Pastry Chef at the Grand Hotel. The Theme represented life on Mobile Bay, and all indigenous plant materials were used along with props like sails, kayaks, paddles, crab traps, buoys, even a Stauter Boat was brought in to finish out the theme. The head table was made into a wharf and a driftwood Bride and Groom was designed by the talented Zimlich’s. Oyster Shells were harvested from Mobile Bay and made into mirrored and vase table scapes by local artist Celia De Laney. Marriott’s Grand Hotel was the perfect setting as the guest watched the sunset before gathering for a sumptuous meal featuring local seafood and farm to table vegetables all created by Master Chef Mike Wallace.  Videography was covered by our good friends at Diva Productions!

The decor’ was breath-taking, the food was delicious, but the best part of the evening was the love and emotion. Both dads had us all crying, Brandon’s childhood friend has us laughing until we cried, and Brooke’s best friends had us giggling as they read an email from Brooke when she first met (and started to like) Brandon. After the crying and giggling were over, the band started and so did the dancing. These people can seriously dance….and they don’t stop!

Loved the boat paddle signature board! Tip: Use items like this that can be used as house decor’ for years to come!Loved the driftwood mannequins! The head table… Details were just so intricate all the way to the crab pots and driftwood garland. This is a working vintage coke machine and it is AWESOME!This might have been one of the funniest toasts ever!

We were so excited when Justine and Will hired us for their wedding at the Grand Marriott in Point Clear, Alabama. If you have ever seen this place, you will understand why. It is truly amazing. The huge live oaks, the magnolias, the azaleas, the tulips…..they are all so lovely. All this is nestled right at the water’s edge on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay. The staff was the absolute most amazing staff we have ever experienced. The chefs even came out to shake the couple’s hands.

A little fun fact….I had my bridal session at this location too. That was over 9 years ago! Did you see Justine’s bridal session a few posts down? You better check it out.

Anyway, it was a beautiful wedding because of the location and the people. I can honestly say that the way Will looked at Justine as she walked down the aisle took my breath away. I knew in that moment they were meant for each other.

I think the coolest part(s) of the night was all of the desserts! There was a fabulous Mango sorbet served after the salad course as an intermezzo. There was the wedding cake of course. Will’s family has a tradition of doughnut holes, so those were served with the champagne. And, towards the end of the night, Justine’s step-mom announced the fresh-made bananas foster bar with ice cream. So, now I REALLY like these families!

040309_10Okay ladies, I hate to have to do this so early in the season, but I am a happily married man!  I know, it’s a cross I bear.  Just try to be more subtle ok?   Wes

Here’s a special post for the week. Justine is getting married in Fairhope soon, with reception following at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL. We took the opportunity for a bridal session with her last week while she was in town tying up some of those loose ends before the wedding. We love bridal sessions because it really gives us a chance to go above and beyond what we usually have time for on the actual wedding day. The Grand Hotel is just a beautiful place, and there’s not really much more I can say about it. Justine was stunning in her dress and is going to make a beautiful bride very soon.

We headed straight for Point Clear, AL last Friday the morning we got home from Atlanta for a shoot with the Myers family. These two are celebrating their 40th anniversary and hosted the children and grandchildren to a long holiday weekend at the beautiful Marriott Grand Hotel. It was pouring rain when we arrived, but to all of our delight it cleared up rather quickly. I’m sure they had a great weekend after we left, and I hope we see them again in the future with those beautiful little girls…..

I wish we could take credit for this pose, but these two were cutting up and we saw a photo opportunity. A photographer from the Alabama board of tourism slipped up behind us and grabbed a shot for himself, so I expect to see this in some promo material real soon!
