Fairhope Wedding Rehearsal Dinner – Point Clear Marriott
Brooke & Brandon’s rehearsal dinner was at the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort in Point Clear, Alabama. The Grand is known for their southern charm and hospitality. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff is some of the best in our area. The Ballroom was transformed into in a Bay Retreat and was full of beautiful details from driftwood art to oyster-covered candle vases. The theme was chosen because it represented the groom’s favorite past time…………spending time, boating, fishing or just relaxing on Mobile Bay! The florist was Zimlich’s Patio and Garden/Elizabeth’s Garden, (owners and siblings Carol Reeves, Donald and Tommy Zimlich). Band was Trot Line, Lighting by Will Bridges (Willow Bridge), Cake designed by the Pastry Chef at the Grand Hotel. The Theme represented life on Mobile Bay, and all indigenous plant materials were used along with props like sails, kayaks, paddles, crab traps, buoys, even a Stauter Boat was brought in to finish out the theme. The head table was made into a wharf and a driftwood Bride and Groom was designed by the talented Zimlich’s. Oyster Shells were harvested from Mobile Bay and made into mirrored and vase table scapes by local artist Celia De Laney. Marriott’s Grand Hotel was the perfect setting as the guest watched the sunset before gathering for a sumptuous meal featuring local seafood and farm to table vegetables all created by Master Chef Mike Wallace. Videography was covered by our good friends at Diva Productions!
The decor’ was breath-taking, the food was delicious, but the best part of the evening was the love and emotion. Both dads had us all crying, Brandon’s childhood friend has us laughing until we cried, and Brooke’s best friends had us giggling as they read an email from Brooke when she first met (and started to like) Brandon. After the crying and giggling were over, the band started and so did the dancing. These people can seriously dance….and they don’t stop!
Loved the boat paddle signature board! Tip: Use items like this that can be used as house decor’ for years to come!Loved the driftwood mannequins! The head table… Details were just so intricate all the way to the crab pots and driftwood garland. This is a working vintage coke machine and it is AWESOME!This might have been one of the funniest toasts ever!
Pensacola Wedding Photographer – Rae Leytham: We love it when we get a call from a past bride’s sister. We photographed Ashley’s sister’s wedding two years ago at the same venues! It was a beautiful, yet warm, day in June at two beautiful venues.
We have seen Brandy and Ryan at several weddings over the last few years. We were thrilled when they chose us to be a big part of their day. It was crazy fun with lots of color, laughter, smashed icing, and a groom that ended up shirtless. It was certainly a PARTY.

Randi sat down with us last year when she booked to tell us about her farm wedding in Greenville, AL. There’s nothing better than when we envision something great in our heads, and then we’re blown away x 10 when we actually get there and see the real thing. It was beautiful! Chase and his dad own this 1400 acre farm complete with stocked lakes and pet deer. Guests were shuttled to the back corner of the property for a ceremony under a massive oak tree next to one of the two lakes. The reception tent was on on a hill with a fire pit just a quick walk away overlooking the lake. The moon was full, the stars were bright, and it was a magical night. The vendors involved are some of the best in the FL Panhandle who traveled to Greenville to pull off this magnificent event. We are so delighted to be able to show you their work that made this wedding possible. Enjoy!

How do bridesmaids get around a large farm? Polaris of course!Love, love, love the dress!Chase is quite fun to hang out with if you couldn’t tell 🙂 He also loves his pet deer… These are just happy to be safe! They were escorted into the reception in style by the bagpiper…You’ve got to love the deer stand groom’s cake by Betty Weber…The decor’ was very farm chic’ and just perfect for the theme of the wedding..
Here’s a little collage of the details… Classic City served a mouth watering buffet of smoked grouper and pork. The popcorn and candy table was a big hit along with Fiore’s rustic farm touches on the decor’.It was a perfect night…The fire pit under that full moon was a hit as well..
When Cathy called us and described her wedding on the phone, we knew right away what she had in mind. She was planning for approximately 70 guests, and she was going over the top with the details. We were more than excited when we heard the news. Everything was exquisite and Cathy’s vision came to life just beautifully. She and Chuck are perfect for each other and their relationship shines in their photos. We wish them both the best in their new life together!

We’ll start with this beautiful hand-painted wedding invitation Cathy mailed to her guests that was on display at the reception. These set the tone for such a grand wedding. The dress was just amazing as well. It was so perfect for the ambiance of the wedding and Cathy wore it like a model.Everyone was trying to not get emotional right before Cathy’s sons walked her down the aisle.A little spontaneous moment immediately following the ceremony after they exited the sanctuary..This church was so beautiful that I just had to include a formal of the ladies…
This cake tasted just as good as it looked. Each layer consisted of several mini layers that literally melted in your mouth. It was made by Marcia Aceval and we have her contact info if anyone wants more information. Chuck is quite an artist himself and wrote Cathy a beautiful song to serenade her.
Emily & Jim were married recently at the Sandestin Resort in beautiful South Walton county. This was a destination wedding with many friends and family arriving from Chicago. Emily’s dress was just stunning and was a perfect style for the day. It was a beautiful Spring afternoon and the azaleas at Sandestin were in full bloom providing us amazing color. Enjoy!

We strolled around Baytown Wharf for some fun between the ceremony & reception…This crowd definitely knew how to party….
We had a great time with Holly & Jonathon at Pensacola last week for their E-Session. They are having a destination ceremony in Mexico next year with receptions following in Cape Cod & Pittsburgh. It’s going to be quite a celebration.
We had 7 weddings in June y’all, so here are the last four with the exception of our Key Largo Wedding last week. Full blog posts from May are coming up soon…
We’ll start with Jenna & Eddie in Pensacola
Followed by Alicia & Kevin in Ft. Walton
And last but not least, Jenna & Michael in Pensacola
An is absolutely precious and such a kind soul. And Harlen is a great match for her! They are so in love and so dang sweet. Their wedding was a great day in April at some beautiful Pensacola venues. An had a gorgeous Kenneth Pool gown she went to Atlanta to get, gorgeous six inch (a slight exaggeration) Badgley Mischka heels, and a simple and beautiful Vera Wang veil. It was so refreshing to see the men in the wedding wearing something other than black! I LOVE the tan suits and bowties. Be sure to check out the garter (on her shoes in the collage) and what Harlen pulled out at the garter removal!!

Reception details were fantastic!
Throw in some Betty Weber cake!
I don’t know how Harlen slid off these Spider Man underwear without An noticing!
One of the highlights of this wedding season was another wedding with the Fabulous Lara Casey and Bliss Event Group. Becky and Scottie has a beautiful wedding at the Our Lady of Assumption Church on Pensacola Beach followed with a reception at the Pensacola Beach Hilton. They have a precious little girl that will melt your heart in this post, especially since we featured her in extra photos. Yes, extremely cute children get extra attention here on the blog! Scroll down and enjoy!
Becky’s room on the 17th floor of the Hilton had the best view on the beach!
Helloooooooo hottie! We take our photos seriously! Some detail love…. The colors and florals were just scrumptious…. Let’s have some Barry White music for the Betty Weber cake…. Oh yeah Scottie decided to be unique and smash cake into his own face….Then it got a little bit crazy!
One thing we try to educate our potential clients about when we meet for the first time is the difference between us and our competitors. It has been extremely rainy in our area lately, and adaptation has been a necessity more than an option. One thing we pride ourselves on is our ability to make the best of a situation like rain and all things out of our control. This is also where 8 years of experience comes into play. We think our use of artificial lighting is some of the best you will find, and takes what could be a bad situation and elevates it into something spectacular. This is why our clients hire us. They know we can get the job done with a quality that far surpasses our competitors.
Jenny and Rob’s big day was a total wash-out, but we were able to capture some amazing portraits of them that would not have been possible without our lighting techniques and a little creativity. Enjoy 🙂
We were so excited when we booked Naomi and Matt, but THEY weren’t the ones that booked us! Naomi’s mom knew Matt would pop the question any day and she was nervous about not getting a great photographer. So, we were actually booked before Naomi got the ring. You might think that is odd, but we didn’t think that AT ALL. Why? Well, because over 10 years ago, our photographer was booked for OUR wedding before I had a ring too! Wes knew which photographer he wanted but he wasn’t ready to pop the question! Cool, huh?
The wedding was beautiful and the day was so easy! Matt truly admires Naomi and we absolutey love seeing that. Photographing love is such a great way to spend a Saturday.
I am so far behind on blogging engagement and family sessions from the last 6 months that I’m holding my head down in shame as I write this. However, I am blogging this recent session with Ashley & Devin because this is the perfect time of year if any of you want one like this. We went to Ft. Pickens recently and had an awesome and creative experience, but time is limited. Once the weather turns warm, the ground is covered with so many ants throughout the fort that you cannot even walk without them crawling all over you. It’s like a bad horror movie! Get in touch with us soon if you want a Ft. Pickens E-session!
Now about Devin and Ashley…. LOVE THEEEEEEM! They are originally from Pensacola and were sweethearts in early high school. They eventually parted ways though (I’m sure it was Devin’s fault because he’s a guy and girls don’t break hearts, right Ashley?) Somehow after college they both found themselves working in Orlando. They reconnected, splashed a little pixie dust on the situation, and here they are planning a Fall wedding 🙂 They were in town from Orlando recently to meet with the uber talented Danielle Atkinson from Lucky Girl Events and we decided it was a great time for a photo shoot.
Devin is quite the force to be reckoned with when it comes to his manliness….
But Ashley knows exactly what it takes to keep him in line!
Love, love, love these next couple….
Kristin & Caleb found us a long time ago after Kristin’s sister was a bridesmaid in a wedding we photographed! We are so glad Haley told Kristin about us. These two are so sweet and kind and such a pleasure to be around. Their wedding was sweet and beautiful and the afternoon lighting at the Scenic Hills Country Club was superb!
It was the first really cool day of Fall and it started out bright and breezy…Can you already picture the cuteness these are about to bring? You will see these again…
Yep, total flower girl cuteness!
Of course all the ladies were dressed for the occasion…
Kristin was gorgeous…..
and Caleb was looking great himself!
The Fall weather was perfect for some beautiful, warm, photos that day. …
Does Kristin glow or what?
Betty Weber came through with another beautiful (and tasty) cake…
Look out, we have a flower girl down. I repeat, the flower girl is down!
Kristin changed into this super cute getaway dress….
And they were whisked away after a wonderful afternoon…. I hear they had a fabulous time at Disney World and Kristin experienced her first roller coaster!
We went undercover recently, as in deep woods undercover, for an E-Session with Samantha and Matt. It was an afternoon of dirt trails, farm cows, and good times as we worked our way around Jay, FL. It’s times like these that I’m glad we own a big truck! It was truly a new adventure for us, but we had a great time! You’ll see their wedding coming up very soon in October…..
I know this posted is going to be a popular one! The sneak peek Wesley posted with just one photo has gotten at least 20 comments already. Keh’ara & Jordon certainly have family and friends that love them! So, HI everyone!! And, thanks so much for being patient while we got caught up from the holidays.
These two planned a wedding very quickly because they were ready to be married! They booked us just a few weeks before their wedding. I can truly say that Wesley and I have never felt so “at home” at a wedding before. Everyone treated us as we were part of the family and they were all so grateful that we were part of their special day. It was absolutely a wonderful way to end 2008.
Oh, and I cried three times during this wedding. Yes. THREE times. The first time was when Keh’ara opened her gift from Jordon. It was a pair of Swarovski earrings. These earrings were so special. Keh’ara had bought them to wear on her wedding day, but decided to return them once she realized the wedding budget was getting a little out of control. Her sister (hi Kia) told Jordan about them and he went back to the store and bought them. Oh. My. Goodness! It was so stinkin’ sweet.
The ceremony was at Old Christ Church in downtown Pensacola and the reception was at Soiree.
OK….enough of my babbling. Here are the fabulous photos everyone has been waiting for…
Love, honor, and disobey! ladies…. The shirt says it all
It’s hard to disobey when you’re this happy though
She was so beautiful everyone was crying!
Sneaking around the church…
Is this the cutest cake or what? The wife of a groomsmen made it as a gift to the couple!
Can you believe this is Keh’ara’s dad? He looks so young! You should see her mom….gorgeous!
So Erin and Eric came all the way down from Ohio for a beautiful afternoon wedding on Pensacola Beach. We had such a blast with these two. They knew from the beginning how important photography was to them, and we are so glad they chose us. They actually factored in over an hour after the ceremony just so we could play and make lots of pictures before dinner and wedding cake at the Portofino Resort.. Their family was superb, and I can say it was probably one of the most relaxed, intimate weddings we have photographed. Our thanks to everyone there for being such a joy to be around. Here are just a few of the many to come soon…….
